A Little About Us

Salt and Pepper. Jessie and Lauren. This site marks our journey into the world of our passion: cooking. For years Jessie and I have had our own separate experiences in the kitchen from cooking at home with our mothers and grandmothers to cooking alone in our kitchens when first living on our own in Chicago. But our cooking experiences were taken to a new level when we came together in the kitchen. Lauren brings her family’s southern roots, while Jessie is influenced by her mother’s affinity for mediterranean cuisine. With our creative approaches in the kitchen and our love of trying new foods, the two of us working together to create food has always seemed magical. We thought we might be onto something and this is our venture to see exactly what that is!
